Fenrir is a Fallen Angel, though he wasn't struck down he simply fell. He retained all of his powers, mainly because he wasn't a threat. As he didn't fall because he hated humanity or wanted to join Lucifer. While he was in heaven he and his brother Lupus were under the tutelage of an angel named Atticus, the Angel of Destruction.

Atticus is the angel mentioned when God gives David the choice of three years of famine, three months of war or three days of the angel of the Lord set loose upon Israel; His sword and destroyer. David obviously chose three days of the Angel, seeing as it was the least amount of time. But after only an hour of the Angel's wrath, God took pity on Israel and instead sent three years of famine. He was also the angel that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and the angel that was released in Egypt to kill every first born; the final plague. Though in Egypt Fenrir and his brother Lupus were also involved.

The main aim of the training Atticus was putting them through was that they were to be two of the four riders of the Apocalypse. Fenrir being Death while his brother Lupus was War. The other two of the riders were being tutored by the Arch Angel Michael.

Fenrir and his brother didn't get along with their General, Michael, or his apprentices seeing as their own tutor taught different viewpoints. So they 'grew up' thinking about life in a completely different way. They were always getting into scuffs, though his brother Lupus was always pulling him out of the fray and attempting to calm him. Eventually Fenrir's own view's and desires grew so strong that he wanted to experience things like pleasure. Namely sex. According to Michael's laws for the angels they weren't allowed to partake in the act of sexual relations with each other or humans because of the creation of the Nephilim. However, Fenrir broke that law, making love to another angel. When the Arch Angel found out about the incident he was accused of rape. However when the Arch Angel decided that he would enact justice in the form of breaking Fenrir's wings and casting him down to earth, Atticus and Lupus stepped in.

When it looked like the battle was seriously going south and Lupus had been 'killed' in the thick of things, in his sorrow, Fenrir ran to Earth. Atticus was reprimanded, but ended up retaining his position seeing as Atticus answers to a higher authority than that of Michael.
